Winner of a Europan 9 Project Honorable Mention, this masterplan activates an underutilised site in Geneva, Switzerland.
A speculative proposal that considered the future of this water-framed site. The masterplan injects street art, strategic light installations and mixed-use activities along the river’s edge to activate an underutilised site and promote greater interaction.
Vault House is naturally cross-ventilated, with operable windows and a roof hatch over the central oculus to allow stack cooling. Brick screening and secondary roller blinds mitigate sun penetration in summer, while the brick vault massing is a sustainable thermal store in winter.
